A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Alexandra Dwight has played harp and piano since the age of four, and received a BM in Harp Performance from Indiana University in 2016 under Distinguished Professor Susann McDonald. In 2013, she won first prize in the Young Professional Division of the American Harp Society National Competition and as the Concert Artist performed and taught masterclasses in over twenty US cities from 2013-2015.

From 2016-2017 she honed her skills as a Celtic harper and worked as an Itinerant Musician at Colonial Williamsburg, where she performed folk and early music in 18th century costume. In 2018 and 2022, she received prizes for her Scottish harp performances and compositions at the Princess Margaret of the Isles Competition sponsored by Clan Donald.

Equally comfortable as a collaborative pianist, she received her MM in Piano Accompanying from Florida State University, studying under Professor Valerie Trujillo. She served as a Graduate Assistant, performing as an accompanist on numerous solo recitals for violin, cello, clarinet, oboe, flute, voice, and others. During her time in Florida from 2022-2024, she served as Principal Harpist for the Panama Symphony and performed as a substitute for the Mobile Symphony, Tuscaloosa Symphony, Gulf Coast Symphonia, and Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra.

She currently lives in Norfolk, VA where she maintains a piano and harp studio, teaching at Norfolk Academy, the Academy of Music, and performing throughout the Hampton Roads area. She lives in Ghent with her husband and son and enjoys nature, reading, and playing board games with anyone willing.
